The Alinytjara Wilurara NRM Board consists of community representatives who have an interest and/ or expertise in natural resources management and indigenous issues.

Marilyn AhChee
We are pleased to announce our Presiding Member Marilyn. Marilyn has been an AW Board member since the formation of the Board. Marilyn has taught in variuos schools across the State. She is the chair of the Witjira National Park co-management Board, and is a member of the Aboriginal State Advisory Committee. Marilyn has a strong understanding of land management and the need for Aboriginal engagement and involvement in NRM.
Frank Young
Frank has worked with Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara Land Management since 1997. He grew up looking after country and learning Tjukurpa (law) from his grandfather.In the 60’s and 70’s, Frank worked as a stockman and fence builder. He has also beena mechanic, an education worker, a health worker at Amata and a Municipal Services Officer. In 1986 Frank founded Wataru community.
Lois Fraser
Lois Fraser is from Kenmore Park in the APY lands. Lois grew up at Kenmore Park and went to school there and had further education in Adelaide. Lois is currently working for the community office as the MSO in Kenmore. Lois is happy to have been appointed to the AW NRM Board and she looks forward yo learning more about caring for country.
Jeffrey Queama
Jeffrey Queama is a community Elder of oak Valley and was born in Nundroo. After thirty years he settled back onto the Maralinga Lands in 1983. Jeffrey is a member of the Maralinga Pilling Trust Board actively supporting the community pursue compensation by the British Government. Jeffrey is also a critical advisor to the Commonwealth Government on the clean-up of the Maralinga Lands. Jeffrey is passionate about seeing the young people engaged with training to look after their country for the future generations.
Brian Queama
Brian was born in Yalata. Brian is works pro-activley with the Yalata land management team. Brian is very happy to be a part of the Alinytjara Wilurara NRM Board.
Anna Lennon
Anna is from Oodnadatta and she has experience working inhealth and child care. Anna is the Chair person of the Dunjiba Council and is very interested in caring for country.
Mima Smart
Maureen Smart, known by her Anangu name, Mima was born at Penong near the coast in 1956. After Mima was born she moved with her parents to Yalata and that is where she grew up. Mima currently works in Yalata as an Aboriginal Education worker at the school. Mima has been the Chair person at the school for two years. Mima is very happy to have been appointed to sit on the AW NRM Board and looks forward to the knowledge she can both provide and gain from this experience.
Parry Aguis
Parry Aguis is currently the Executive Officer of the Native Title Unit. The Native Title Unit is a division of the Aboriginal Legal Rights Movement, and is the Native Title Representative Body for South Australia. Other Boards Mr Aguis has been involved in include; National Native Title Forums, the Premier's Round Table on Sustainability, South Australian Economic Board and South Asutralian Fishing Industry Council just to name a few. Mr Aguis has had a lifetime's experience dealing with Aboriginal issues, coming from a family involved in caring for and protecting Aboriginal rights.
Anton Baker
Anton was born in Pukatja in 1957, he is the son of Jimmy Baker. Anton is a Traditional Owner and he now lives in Kanipi. Anton is currently working as an Interpreter / Advisor to a Government study on Anangu needs. Previously Anton worked as a heavy equipment operator and he knows his country very well. Anton is enjoying the new experience of sitting on the Alinytjara Wilurara NRM Board.
Malcolm (Molly) Anderson
Malcolm (Molly) Anderson is Manager of the Aboriginal Partnerships Unit and the Departmentfor Environment and Heritage representative on the Board. After spending three yearsin the army he joined National Parks and then DEH working across the State.
Fraser MacLeod
Fraser MacLeod was born in Scotland, the son of a crofter and his family have roots in that land going back more than a thousand years although this indigenous form of land tenure was only legally recognised in 1886 . It is written that the Gaelic culture "... developed a strong environmental awareness a thousand years before other Europeans". Fraser shares this strong link of people to the land and for many years he was an advocate for the crofting community working to shape European agricultural and environmental policy.
Heidi Crow
Heidi Crow is the Principal Heritage Officer of the Heritage Conservation Team DPC and is the Department of Premier and Cabinet representative on the AW Board. She has an Archaeologydegree and has working in Cultural Heritage Management for 11 years. “NRM is about lookingafter the environment and acknowledging and strengthening peoples understanding of the linksbetween managing natural heritage and managing cultural heritage”.
