Natural Resources Alinytjara Wilurara works with fishers, visitors and Aboriginal communities in the coastal area of the region to consider how best to achieve coastal management outcomes, particularly those relating to minimising the impacts of visitors, recreational fishers and coastal/marine rubbish. Natural Resources Alinytjara Wilurara also works with Aboriginal community members wherever possible to minimise these impacts, to complete surveys (including surveys of migratory and resident shore birds) monitoring utilisation of the coastal environment by birds, their breeding and interaction with the visited or rubbished areas. A rubbish cleanup has been conducted along the AW coastline, again using Aboriginal community members. The oral and written history of the area will be captured to consider the past in future management.
